Application Process
From surface preparation to final protection
Substrate Preparation
Clean and level the surface. For tiles: apply interface agent and filler. For cement: apply waterproof layer. New concrete floors must cure for at least 28 days before application.
Good preparation determines 80% of the final result. Never skip this step.
Primer Application
Roll on 1-2 coats of penetrating primer. This strengthens adhesion between the substrate and the microcement layers.
Use a high-quality acrylic primer for best results on porous surfaces.
Mesh Reinforcement
After primer dries, embed an alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh into a thin base layer. This prevents future cracking, especially on floors and large areas.
Overlap mesh joints by at least 5 cm for continuous reinforcement.
Microcement Application & Sanding
Apply 2-3 coats of microcement with a stainless steel trowel. Sand between each coat after 24 hrs drying. First coats level the surface; the final coat creates the desired fine texture.
Apply each coat thin and evenly. Thick coats increase cracking risk.
Dust Cleaning & Sealer
Vacuum thoroughly after final sanding. Roll on 1-2 coats of sealer/varnish. This protects the microcement and determines the final finish 鈥?matte, satin, or gloss.
Use a microfiber roller for bubble-free sealer application.
